The Vive is an unassuming hotel just a few minutes walk from the beach on Kuhio. It feels more welcoming and less flashy than the big hotel towers. They do "ohana" better than anywhere in Waikiki, treating you like family. Everything you need for the beach is there- towels, chairs, umbrellas, toys, right down to bags to pack everything in, and staff members go the extra mile for guests. They have water refill machines in the lobby, which I wish ever hotel had, coffee, tea, and lemon water. There is a continental breakfast daily in the "living room".
Didn't like: Some rooms are smaller, and their location on Kuhio means you will get some noise from the street. There is traffic noise in Waikiki everywhere you stay to some degree, and this didn't impact our vacation really.

Just what I needed for my budget friendly visit. I liked that breakfast was included, it's one less meal you need to budget for and it gets you ready for the day. Room was really good for the price and the aircon was a must. Service was helpful and the cleaners came around more than I expected. Also really liked the complementary coffee and drinks available 24/7 and the beach towels, chairs, mats etc you can use.
Didn't like: The breakfast area is a little small and fill quickly in the morning, I was travelling alone so it was fine because I could sit in the single chair but if you have more people it need to be downstairs early.

Cruising Home Comfortable bed and room size ok good tv and plenty of channels, friendly staff and good breakfast, good location to everything also.
Didn't like: A staff member at the desk booked a taxi for us which cost 3 time's what he told us we should have done it ourselves with Charlie's taxis

My stay was decent. I requested housekeeping during my stay and when I returned from a day at the beach it wasn't do The staff was very accommodating
