Catalonia Punta Cana - All Inclusive

Great facilities and a few wonderful staff, but we were treated unfairly by others for being a same-sex couple. The pool, drinks and entertainment were great, and all six restaurants were good. To the six staff who welcomed us: thank you all for your kindness. Thank you for seeing us as human beings and not judging us for who we love. You saw us for who we are: people, and guests. Thank you for the memories you gave us. I haven't forgotten a single one of you, because a good person always has a place in my heart.

Didn't like: Service was poor at times. Staff didn't come over to offer us even basic things like water, we waited longer than other guests for food, and we were served with little respect. Room service also took longer than stated. One member of guest services was helpful over text, but his attitude changed after he saw we were a same-sex couple. I went to guest services to ask for the manager, as his face is the profile picture on the resort's Booking.com WhatsApp contact and I assumed he was in charge. He showed little respect and told me to "sit, lady," then sent us to the front desk. The front desk staff sent us straight back, and when we returned he had disappeared. He made no effort to help. Afterwards he stared at us in an intimidating way whenever he saw us, and he laughed as we walked past on the last occasion. I shouldn't have to complain to be treated fairly, especially as I paid for a premium room. We also had problems with room changes, which were thankfully resolved.

Didn't like: Very difficult to get anyone to help. Staff don’t seem to know what other departments do. Looking for yoga on the beach took 5 staff members. Air conditioning comes and goes. Room service is a joke 2 hours waiting. Phone in the room has to be re wired.

family-friendly place I love that this is a family-friendly place! There are plenty of fun activities for the kids, and our room was in the perfect location, close to the pool and not too far from the beach. The staff was excellent and always made sure we had everything we needed, promptly assisting us whenever we requested help. We also loved how conveniently located everything was, so we didn’t have to walk far to get from one place to another. Overall, it was a wonderful experience for the whole family!

Didn't like: The drinks offered to privileged guests were not premium, despite what was advertised. They served the same drinks as everyone else, which was disappointing. Some of the food also lacked flavor. On my first night, I had roasted pork that tasted as if it had been cooked without any seasoning. The second night was better because we managed to dine at the Italian restaurant, but unfortunately, not everyone in my family enjoyed their meal. My younger daughter and I enjoyed our food, but my oldest daughter ordered a hamburger that had absolutely no flavor. It tasted like plain grilled meat with no seasoning at all. She couldn't eat it, so we had to send it back. My wife ordered a meat risotto. Although the meat was okay, the risotto itself was terrible, both in presentation and taste. Overall, while we enjoyed certain aspects of our stay, the quality of the drinks and the inconsistency of the food were disappointing and could definitely be improved.

Didn't like: **Disappointing stay** Unfortunately, our stay was not a good experience. Water was leaking from the bathroom ceiling, and the air conditioning was not working. The room was 27°C, but despite asking, the staff would not move us to another room. The buffet was also disappointing: I would rate both the food quality and taste 5 out of 10. Overall, it felt like little effort had been made to make the experience truly outstanding. I hope the hotel takes these concerns seriously and improves its service and room maintenance.

Didn't like: I upgrade my stay to privilege and they change my room for a smaller one, torn towels, and to make it worse i forgot my portable charger and my husband sneakers and o called then and nobody can give me an answer if the staff report it

It was beautiful and clean the pool very clean and no noice pollution . Bar tender very very nice except for a Haitian in the pool area that ignored me when I spoke Spanish to him he also was rough with female tourist cause she took water to rince her eyes.

Didn't like: Front desk Lizbeth was sarcastic not very educated . We took 2 rooms and they placed us in different building and we had 2 kids . The food was bad not enough to choose from and the leftover they gave it to us for dinner Service was really bad had to get up for water. At the pool there were 2 Haitians taking pictures saying they were Dominicans and they were taking pictures to minors and that is illegal they try take pictures to my grand kids and we stopped then . One of them called a man who wife was talking to us palomo she started arguing with him because she had the feeling it is a bad word to call a man and it is true. The beach nasty and stinky and all the Haitians saleing at the beach seating on the chairlong they also want to force my wife for massage. A lot of mosquitos in the room. At the snack bar the pizza were from the day before it was 3pm and the ol pizza was there.
