Didn't like: Temperature system in the room and surprise fees at the end.

I would not recommend this hotel unless you are a solo traveler and aren’t seeking standard in room hotel amenities like The staff was super friendly and the location is convenient if you want to be near Midtown.
Didn't like: The room size and lack of in-room amenities. For the price we paid, I would have expected the room to at least have a closet and adequate space to store to suitcases. Additionally the bathroom was super small and the shower did not have a door so water would splash out and make the entire bathroom floor wet.

Amazing location, service and beautiful week in New York We have spent an amazing week in New York. This hotel is amazing - we liked service, attention to details, staff. Separate plus on top of all above is location. Breakfast very good, just I would recommend purchasing it on site, not online. Comfortable bed. We also had beautiful view from our 9 floor room. Hotel very nicely decorated and has Broadway scenes all over.
Didn't like: Very very strange shower set up. The shower head is attached on the vertical wall and is quite high... so if you need to wash anything you will be washed all over. And there is no decent protection wall so every time you take full body shower your bathroom floor will be soaking wet. Also we had to be quite creative to find where to hang our clothes. And nothing above had spoiled our amazing week. I do recommend this hotel besides these small inconvenience,

Great stay - we loved it Beautiful boutique hotel. Very central location. Friendly staff. Lovely bars and restaurant. Great view from room. Comfy bed

Great, would recommend the hotel to friends and family and would definitely return. Friendly staff and good amenities. Location was excellent as it was near Times Square and near subway stations. The room was small but ideal for me as a solo traveller

I felt very safe staying at the civilian. The staff were personable and caring, and the aesthetic is Healthy and convenient. In a quiet beautiful setting.
Didn't like: I personally enjoy flavored coffee syrup and sweetener and didn’t see those options

We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Hotel has a great location in Manhattan, very close to multiple tube stations. Our room was on floor 18 with a great view to the city especially at night. The staff were always helpful and happy to answer any of our questions. Rosevale Cocktail Bar is also not to be missed, the ambient was great and there was a wide variety of drinks to choose from (+live jazz on certain nights).
Didn't like: Not a major issue but thought breakfast options were slightly limited, however what was available was good.
