Reviews
Review highlights
- Cleanliness7.8/10
- Multiple guests described rooms and suites as 'spotless' or 'clean, clean, clean', though a few mentioned a slightly dirty bathroom or a clogged shower—overall cleanliness is above average.
- Service6.5/10
- Frequent complaints about the front desk: rude or mean staff, long lines, insufficient staffing; some staff cited as friendly and kiosks praised, resulting in a mixed-to-below-average service rating.
- Location7.8/10
- Many reviewers praised the convenient location near the Strip and quieter atmosphere; a few noted it felt far from some destinations—overall positive for value and access.
- Room Quality6.8/10
- Guests enjoyed spacious suites and panoramic views, but numerous reports of poor AC/cooling, heat in rooms, older rooms and occasional minor cleanliness issues lower this score.
- Amenities6.9/10
- Good variety (slot machines, kiosks, pool, food hall) and praised pools when open, but several mentions of pools closed, no microwaves, and limited availability of some amenities reduce the score.
- Value for Money8.0/10
- Several guests called the price 'exceptional' and noted outstanding value for suite size; occasional complaints about pricey food do not outweigh strong value perceptions.
- Food and Beverage6.7/10
- Mixed reviews: the food hall and late snacks were seen as reasonably priced by some, while others found food mediocre, pricey, or experienced surprising snack charges—overall slightly below average.

The view was good. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were helpful and polite.
Didn't like: Keys didn’t work quite often which was a big inconvenience to keep walking to the front desk. Also most of the slot machines did not work so we had to go ti other casinos.

I’ll never stay here again. It was awful. The size of my room was nice and it had a working refrigerator we could use. They pipe music outside while you wait for the taxi. You can pay for late checkout (about $10 per hour) The manager did compensate us for the horrible stay and was the friendliest employee we encountered during our entire stay. He also looks about 28 so be nice to him.
Didn't like: The first room we were given (was not the room we ordered but we didn’t know it at the time) we asked to change rooms because the smoke residue in the room was gagable. The lobby is also very smokey. Like I did not choose to eat there because of it. The next room (matched the photo) and and smelled better. We didn’t realize until it was time for bed that one of the mattresses was completely broken with a big valley in the middle. It was a late night discovery so we just dealt with it. None of the pools work but if you read the fine print that is not what the resort fee pays for. The resort fee is for the exercise room, WiFi and phone. (it’s just a garbage fee in my opinion) They do not have any do not disturb signs so house keeping tried to barge in. I brought my own door lock so they didn’t get far. Still it was unsettling. The final kicker was construction started in the room next to us at 7am and was a constant sawzaw sound. OMG It was just beyond unreasonable. I guess there are are a few more things. It’s a 30 min walk to Caesar’s but the homeless have taken up living on the bridge so you will only do it once. Taxis are about $20 from the RIo to anywhere. About half of the restaurants and gambling machines do not work inside the Rio. That was kind of confusing.

Couldn’t wait to leave. The employees were kind and helpful.
Didn't like: The property was in transition, when I was checking in there were many unhappy customers. Many slot machines were not working and restaurants were closed what a disappointment. The room had a strange smell housekeeping came and spray deodorant.

My stay was horrible. I tried to find another hotel but they were all booked up. Just the convenience to the football stadium.
Didn't like: The Hotel slot machines were all off. You really couldn’t gamble there. What’s the point of staying there if you have to leave to another hotel to go gamble. The hotel was dead with no nite life or people. The pool was closed. It was a long line for check in. No kiosks to expedite the check in process. My shower was whistling when you turned the water on. It was horrible….

Good value for what we were looking for. It was a convenient location. We, I believe, got a good nightly rate. The registration staff were friendly and helpful. The dealers were all friendly and had good attitudes.
Didn't like: It felt like the property was being prepped to shut down. Or completely remodeled. The pool was shut down for some repairs or facelift? The whole Masquerade wing of the hotel was shut down. Slots were turned off or inoperable. Total ghost town. Somewhat eerie walking through an area so quiet especially in Vegas. Our room although spacious and well appointed (small fridge). The wall paper under the bathroom sink was falling down. It was clean though. I am not unhappy for the price we paid. All credit to the staff for a good stay.

The staff was nice.
Didn't like: The facility is under construction, which is understandable, but the room we were put in had many damages, dirty carpet and smelled of smoke even though it was nonsmoking. The property also no longer has a shuttle system to reach the strip, so it was an Uber charge each time we wanted to leave. We also weren't aware so much would be shut down in the hotel, like restaurants, entertainment, gambling areas, etc. I have multiple pictures of the room but it will not let me upload more than one per category given.

This was not the hype I was expecting, utterly disappointed! Most of the staff were friendly and the bed was really comfortable.
Didn't like: The room was dated, the pool was closed, some of the restaurants and shops were closed. A lot of the slot machines were out of order which led us to have to get taxi’s to other places due to the poor location. I have had a lot more taken from my card for the room than what was authorised, I have contacted the hotel but still no response. I would not go back to the Rio, we planned this for a holiday of a lifetime as it was my 40th birthday and all we felt was dissatisfied.

The room was very comfortable liked that all rooms are suites now.
Didn't like: I was charged for a movie and am still waiting for property to get back with me on that.

Good cheap rooms with good service. Rooms were cheaper being off the strip. Friendly and efficient staff. The AI chat bot Rio Rita was very easy to request stuff through with quick response and service from the staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable beds were nice.
Didn't like: The elevator situation was a mess. I waited for the elevator with a large group of strangers to pick us up on the high floors. We ended up having to walk down the stairs and through some tunnels to pop out near the valet station outside, only to have to go back inside. By our last day, the elevator situation had improved though. The elevators and hallways were always warm, which isn't great, but the AC in the rooms is great. The rooms lacked adequate drawers to put our clothes away so we had three suitcases open on the floors to live out of for several days having to step over or move them to pull out the sofa bed.
