Small dogs are charged at $40.00 plus tax NIGHTLY, per small dog and the guest is charged an additional and refundable $250.00 incidental deposit, per reservation. A maximum of two small dogs per guest room is permitted. Strictly no other kind of pet is permitted on property. Guests that do NOT register their small dog(s) are subject to a $500.00 plus tax penalty.Small dogs may be left unattended in the guest room, however, no stayover amenities will be delivered by housekeeping if there is/are dog(s) in the guest’s room.Moreover, if the small dog(s) become(s) a noise disturbance to other guests, or River Edge Inn management; front desk; or any employee, receives other dog-related complaints from the guest’s room, the guest must return to take their small dog(s) with them.River Edge Inn will NOT release the $250 incidental deposit in the event of small dog(s) damaging the room and its contents by, but not limited to, urinating; fouling; hair-shedding etc., and/or causing a noise disturbance that is not attended to by the guest(s). Great Location, Prepare for Incidental Fee & Breakfast Accordingly The location was excellent. It was a short walk to downtown Gatlinburg. The rooms appeared to be recently updated and were very nice. The staff seemed to be friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean.
Didn't like: The recently updated rooms had very dim lighting, except in the bathroom. I have no idea why. The breakfast was a grab and go so, there were limited items to choose from. The worse part of our stay was the "nominal" incidental fee that I was unprepared for. They put $100 hold on my card that took almost a week to drop off. I'm not sure what their idea of "nominal" is, but I don't think $100 is part of that equation. Luckily I brought a card that I used for just incidental fees during our travels. We spent 7 nights at 7 different hotels and inns and this was the only one the charged so much for incidentals (most ranging from $1 min to $50 max) and the rest dropped off my card within 2 work days.

Great location, great value but a bit of TLC needed in some areas The location is great, just a short walk to attractions and restaurants and and the price was very reasonable too compared to other properties in Gatlinburg. We had a 2 bedroom family suite which was very spacious and comfortable. Massive TV's in each room too. Also saw 3 bears during our stay when we walked by the creek.
Didn't like: There wasn't a door between the lounge and one of the bedrooms, this could be an issue for people trying to sleep. There was no light in the vanity area to do hair and make up. The TV remotes have Netflix buttons but they don't work. The floor covering in the lift is in a terrible state, it was torn so very difficult to get the luggage trolley in and out and very unsightly. As the breakfast area is very small they can only offer a grab and go breakfast which is quite basic.

Perfect place and will book here again! Conveniently located and had coffee available ALL day! That is a huge plus for us when traveling!
Didn't like: Door was a little loud when opening and closing so hard to leave room quietly when one of us up at 6 and the other sleeps later
