I wish I had taken photos of this dump, but I left right after checking in. Not a place for families or serious traveler The staff at the front desk were nice and promised me a refund for my stay.

Didn't like: It’s a construction zone with random people loitering around. No gate so anyone could drive right up to your exterior door at any time. The room smelled awful. The pools looked dirty and apparently for $50 anyone can get in.

Stay was amazing.will stay again Location and pools.

Didn't like: Restaurant over priced and not to many options. Bar to small for people.

The place is clean and welcoming. There is currently a major renovation going on, but this is not felt by the guests. For this reason, I also received an upgrade to a better villa due to the upcoming renovation.

Didn't like: To accommodate us in the room one hour earlier than the check-in time, we were asked for $35, given that the room was ready and we didn't want this a few hours earlier. One hour!!! This is unacceptable. Breakfast - something that is not mentioned in Booking is that they give you a voucher for $27 and you have to order from the menu in the restaurant, where the cheapest option starts at $17-18. You want coffee - you pay, you want juice - you pay.. In the end, your bill comes out much more than these $27... that's a shame

Location, cleanliness, outstanding pools, staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious.

Didn't like: Rooms could use a bigger fridge and a microwave to reheat leftovers.

It’s so nice. The pool is clean and not crowded. Stayed in a king Casita with a living room and dining area. Ordered Door Dash because I didn’t want to waste time leaving the premises!

OK Hotel, but Not up to Kimpton Standards Recent, extensive renovations have reenergized some areas of this older resort. The lobby, restaurant, bar, and meeting room areas are very attractive and nicely appointed. Desert garden spaces are basic and largely unimaginative, and the rooms…well…there’s only so much that can be done with older exterior-entrance guestrooms with no patios, no balconies. What’s good about the hotel? • The staff are helpful and friendly, especially those in the bar and restaurant. The front desk staff were fairly rigid, and seemingly befuddled when lines formed at the desk. • The lobby, restaurant, bar, and meeting space are all very attractively decorated. • Parking is free, and plentiful • Free coffee and tea in the lobby each morning, and complementary wine and beer in the lobby each evening 5:00 – 6:00 PM • Several pools so you can find one that meets your style and noise level • In the room – plentiful hot water, quiet AC, and large TV with good features and a good channel lineup. The bed was relatively comfortable, but the bottom sheet on the bed is not large enough for the bed and comes loose the minute you lay down. Pillows are good. What’s not good about the hotel? • My king-bedded room was tiny, and…just awkward. The sofa was placed directly in front of the older-style HVAC unit, with its back to the window. The shelving unit near the door, that housed the closet, small in-room refrigerator and Nespresso coffee maker is not well-designed. To use the Nespresso machine, you have to remove it from the shelving unit in order to then plug it in and access the top of it to fill water and insert a pod, and that’s assuming that pods had been replenished since the prior guest, which mine weren’t. There is just one single outlet on each side of the bed. The luggage rack/bench is tightly tucked between the bed and the bathroom wall. There is no desk in the room, so I had to sit on the low sofa and place my laptop on the small coffee table to work…and stretch a power cord to an outlet by the door. Ultimately, the design on the rooms – at least the king bedded rooms – is not user-friendly. • Guestroom amenities – or not. Online, it’s stated that the rooms have irons and ironing boards when in fact, mine had only a steamer. I asked for an iron and ironing board to be delivered, and the ironing board that was delivered was absolutely unusable with broken supports. I asked for another to be delivered to my room and it was simply left outside my door, and the broken one was not retrieved. • Guestroom amenities – or not – part 2. At check-in, I was handed a small bottle of water and the clerk told me that more water bottles are provided in rooms. There were no water bottles when I got to my room, so I called and asked for some and yes, four were delivered. No more were placed in my room during my five-night stay so I finally purchased some at a nearby Walgreens. The tap water in the rooms is very warm, so bottled water was essential for drinking. • Guestroom bathroom: another bad-design item. To turn on the shower, you actually have to open the door and step well into the shower to turn it on, so of course the first blast of water, hot or cold, will soak you. They should have installed the faucet on the wall that’s accessible in the shower, or cut an access through the shower glass wall so that you can reach in directly to the faucet. • The restaurant also needs attention. The staff are nice. That said, the $27 buffet breakfast is absolutely not worth it. Reconstituted scrambled eggs like those served for free at a Days Inn or Quality Inn or other budget hotel, tasteless sausage, and burned bacon. A Kimpton Hotel, at $27, should serve freshly scrambled eggs and higher-quality sausage and bacon. Restaurant prices are also borderline ridiculous - $12.00 for a side of two over-easy eggs at breakfast, and at dinner, $50 for grilled chicken, $80 for grilled pork chop, and $75 for a grilled New York Strip, not including the side dishes that range from $10 to $13 each. Seriously???? It’s no wonder the restaurant looked mostly empty during my stay. A few recommendations if you choose to book here: • If it suits your needs, request a room with two queen beds, not a king. I saw a room with two queen beds one morning and it was much more spacious, and looked to have a desk, with logically-arranged furniture. • Request a room in one of the buildings closer to the lobby building to avoid long walks, especially when it’s hot. • Bring your own Nespresso pods. • If you like a quiter pool, walk to the rear of the resort to the small pool near the casitas. My room key did not work to open the gate, but it was easy to reach through the gate and open it from the inside. • While there are really no restaurants within easy walking distance, there are many independent and chain restaurants of various cuisines a short drive or Uber ride away. Dine elsewhere for much better price-value and for breakfast, better quality food.

Not quite 5 stars, but pretty close! I've lived in Phoenix going on 10 years, and Kimpton Miralina now has the honor of being my very first AZ "staycation" resort! I stayed here with three friends in a remodeled double king room. It was nice to have two king beds as opposed to two queens, as many hotels often have in a 4-person room. The beds were comfortable, and the room was great overall! We also loved the pools at this resort, especially the zero-entry pool! The employees we interacted with at the front desk, pool and cafe were all so friendly & helpful. Although we got an amazing "hot weather" deal to stay here, my reason for rating this 4 stars as opposed to 5 is really the price of everything else. Over $15 for an iced coffee and small croissant at the cafe is just insanity to me! The pool bar prices weren't any friendlier. Cheaper than Vegas for sure, but a touch too expensive for 4-star resort in AZ - even if it's Scottsdale. If this were a 5-star resort, then perhaps those prices can be a little more justified. Consider my rating 4.5 stars, which is not an option in this case. If you find an excellent deal as I did, it's worth staying at Kimpton Miralina.

Weird ADA room We've stayed at this hotel many times before. The location is excellent for the things we like to do. The renovated bar is lovely and the bartender there in the evenings was excellent..

Didn't like: I was given an ADA room for some reason because I'm not disabled, and I didn't notice it because I was out at a meeting and didn't get back until late at night. So I didn't change the room because it was too late. But with no drawers in the room, I had to put my clothes on the floor and with no closet in the room, I had to hang my clothes on the shower rod! The table is too high and the chair is too low to use my computer, so I had to take my laptop to the bar area. I don't know how it would work for a disabled person either! The lighting is also terrible. I can't imagine that would help a disabled person.
