Park City, Utah, offers a unique landscape for group lodging, particularly for those planning ski trips, family reunions, or friend getaways. Unlike cities dominated by hotels, Park City excels in providing spacious vacation rentals, from multi-bedroom condos to large private homes. Key considerations for groups include the actual sleeping capacity, the number of bathrooms, and access to common areas. Neighborhood choice significantly impacts your experience, with options ranging from the walkable Historic Main Street to the luxury ski-in/ski-out properties of Deer Valley, or the resort-centric Canyons Village. Parking is often a crucial factor, especially for groups arriving in multiple vehicles, so confirm availability before booking.
What to look for in a group stay here
When selecting a group stay in Park City, prioritize properties that offer enough bedrooms and bathrooms to comfortably accommodate everyone. While a listing might state it "sleeps 14," verify the actual bed count and consider the number of shared bathrooms; ideally, aim for at least one bathroom per two bedrooms to avoid morning queues. Common pitfalls for larger groups include a lack of sufficient common space for everyone to gather, or a single small kitchen struggling to cater to multiple families.
Neighborhood tradeoffs are also important. Staying near Historic Main Street offers walkability to dining, shops, and nightlife, though properties here might be smaller and parking more limited. Deer Valley is known for its luxury and ski-in/ski-out access, providing unparalleled convenience for skiers, but often requires a car or shuttle for other activities. Park City Mountain Resort (Canyons Village) areas offer resort amenities and easy slope access. For those seeking newer developments and potentially more space at a better value, Kimball Junction provides good access to the wider area, though it typically requires driving to the slopes.

Booking tips for larger groups
When booking for a large group, be aware that properties often require higher initial deposits and may have stricter cancellation policies than smaller rentals. Security deposits can also be substantial, so understand the terms upfront. For managing payments, consider assigning one person to handle the booking and then use a group payment tool to split costs among participants. This simplifies logistics and ensures a smooth booking process for your entire party.
