Manuel Antonio offers a unique setting for group travel, blending rainforest immersion with coastal access. Unlike urban destinations, group lodging here often means spacious private villas or homes, many perched on hillsides with ocean or jungle views. This provides privacy and a sense of retreat, but it also means walkability can vary significantly. Some properties are conveniently located near the main road connecting Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park, offering easier access to dining and beaches. Others are more secluded, requiring taxis or rental cars for daily excursions. Parking can be a consideration, so confirm availability if you plan to drive.
What to look for in a group stay here
When selecting a group stay in Manuel Antonio, prioritize actual sleeping capacity and bathroom count over just bedroom numbers. A villa advertised to sleep 16 might have six bedrooms, but consider the bed configuration and how many full bathrooms are available to ensure comfort for everyone. Many properties offer multiple floors or separate suites, which can be ideal for providing individual space within a larger group setting. Look for common areas like large kitchens, dining spaces, and outdoor patios that facilitate group gatherings.
Location is another key factor. Properties deep within the rainforest offer abundant wildlife sightings and a tranquil atmosphere, but they may be less walkable to shops or restaurants. Stays closer to the main thoroughfare or in areas like Valle Pura Vida often provide a balance of accessibility and natural beauty. Consider your group's priorities: do you prefer seclusion and nature, or convenience to amenities and the beach? Confirming transportation options and distances to key attractions will help avoid logistical surprises.

Booking tips for larger groups
Booking for a larger group often involves specific considerations. Be prepared for higher deposit requirements and review cancellation policies carefully, as they can be stricter for multi-room or whole-house rentals. Understand the terms regarding security deposits and how they are handled. If your group plans to split costs, discuss payment arrangements and responsibilities early. Anywayr recommends clarifying all these details with the property manager or booking platform before finalizing your reservation.
