Dublin welcomes groups with a blend of historic charm and modern appeal, making it a popular choice for friends, families, and special events. While the median Anywayr (formerly Travelry) group size is four people staying for four days, many properties cater to much larger parties, offering ample space for everyone. Unlike individual hotel rooms, group lodging in Dublin, especially vacation rentals, provides common areas for gathering and shared experiences. Central neighborhoods like Grafton Street and Portobello are highly walkable, putting dining and activities within easy reach. However, be aware that parking can be challenging in the city center, so consider public transport or ride-shares. It is also worth noting that areas like Temple Bar, while popular, are often crowded, loud, and have inflated prices, which may not suit all group preferences, particularly those seeking a quieter or more authentic experience.
What to look for in a group stay here
When selecting a group stay in Dublin, consider your group's size and interests. While many groups are around four people, our research shows properties accommodating up to 28 guests, with bedrooms ranging from three to fourteen. Look for a layout that offers both communal spaces for socializing and private bedrooms for individual comfort. Properties with multiple bathrooms are also a significant plus for larger groups.
Neighborhood choice is key to a successful group trip. For those interested in food, shopping, and a central, bustling atmosphere, Grafton Street and St Stephen's Green are excellent choices. If your group prefers a trendy, bohemian vibe with a focus on culinary experiences and nightlife, Portobello and Camden Street offer a local feel. Grand Canal Dock provides a contemporary, waterside setting for modern dining. For groups interested in history, architecture, and cultural experiences, the Georgian Quarter or Smithfield are strong contenders. Families might find Ballsbridge appealing for its upscale, tranquil, and green surroundings. A common pitfall for groups is staying in Temple Bar, which is primarily known for its late-night pubs and can be extremely noisy and crowded, making it unsuitable for families or those avoiding late-night venues.

Booking tips for larger groups
Booking a group stay often involves specific considerations. Many vacation rentals require a deposit to secure your reservation, with the remaining balance due closer to your arrival date. Familiarize yourself with the cancellation policy, as these can vary significantly between properties and platforms. Security deposits are also common and are typically refunded after your stay, provided no damages occur. If your group plans to split costs, discuss payment arrangements in advance to ensure a smooth booking process. Anywayr recommends confirming all details with the property manager or booking platform before finalizing your reservation.
