Cabo San Lucas offers a diverse and exciting food scene for groups, whether you are celebrating with friends, enjoying a family reunion, or on a bachelorette trip. The culinary character leans heavily into fresh seafood and traditional Mexican flavors, complemented by international options. The most active dining scenes for groups are found along Medano Beach and within the bustling Marina District and Downtown Cabo. Many venues cater to larger parties, though securing a table for six or more often requires advance planning, especially during peak season. Expect a lively atmosphere in many popular spots, with options ranging from casual beachside eats to more upscale dining experiences.
How we picked these
Our recommendations for group dining in Cabo San Lucas are directly aggregated from real Anywayr (formerly Travelry) trip recommendations. Eat smart as a group
Dining as a group in Cabo San Lucas can be seamless with a few smart strategies. For tables of six or more, especially for dinner, making reservations is highly advisable. Many popular restaurants, particularly those on Medano Beach or in the Marina District, fill up quickly. Consider your group's preferences for atmosphere and cuisine when choosing a neighborhood. Medano Beach offers energetic, beachfront options, while the Marina and Downtown areas provide a mix of lively and more traditional settings.
When it comes to pacing your meals, think about your group's energy levels. Casual breakfast or lunch spots are plentiful and often do not require reservations. For dinner, consider a more relaxed pace, allowing time to enjoy the ambiance. Splitting bills can sometimes be a challenge at smaller, traditional Mexican eateries, so it is wise to clarify payment options upfront or be prepared to handle it within your group. Many larger, more tourist-oriented restaurants are accustomed to separate checks.

Booking tips for large tables
When booking for a large group, always call ahead, ideally a few days to a week in advance, especially for dinner or during busy periods. Some higher-end restaurants may request a deposit to secure a large table, particularly for groups of eight or more. It is also common for an automatic gratuity, typically 15-20%, to be added to the bill for larger parties. Confirm these policies when making your reservation to avoid any surprises.
