Aruba is an ideal destination for group travel, offering a diverse range of lodging options that cater to various needs, from family reunions to friend getaways. Unlike standard hotel rooms, group stays here often mean private villas, spacious beachfront homes, or multi-bedroom resort condos. This allows for shared common areas, private pools, and kitchens, enhancing the group experience. When planning, consider areas like Palm Beach for lively access to dining and entertainment, Eagle Beach for a more relaxed, upscale feel, or inland areas for greater privacy and space. While some areas are walkable, particularly around the main hotel strips, a rental car is often recommended for larger groups to explore the island freely and handle grocery runs. Parking is generally ample and free at most private rental properties.
What to look for in a group stay here
When selecting a group stay in Aruba, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms is paramount. For groups of 8-12 people, aim for properties with at least 4-6 bedrooms to ensure comfortable sleeping arrangements and personal space. Larger groups exceeding 12 will benefit significantly from 7 or more bedrooms. Pay attention to the bathroom count as well; a good rule of thumb is at least one bathroom for every two bedrooms, especially for mixed groups. Many Aruban villas are designed with multiple master suites, providing privacy for couples or smaller family units within the larger group. Consider the bed configurations, too, to confirm they suit your group's dynamic, whether it's king beds for couples or twin beds for children.
Beyond bedrooms, evaluate the common areas. A common pitfall for larger groups is a lack of adequate shared living space, a dining table that seats only half the group, or a kitchen too small for group meal preparation. Look for properties with large living rooms, multiple seating areas, and outdoor dining spaces. Neighborhood choice also impacts your experience. Palm Beach offers proximity to resorts, restaurants, and nightlife, making it convenient for those who enjoy being in the thick of the action. Eagle Beach provides a quieter, more luxurious atmosphere with easy access to one of Aruba's most celebrated beaches. For groups prioritizing seclusion and expansive private grounds, consider villas slightly inland or in areas like Jaburibari, which often come with larger pools and more privacy but may require a short drive to attractions. Always check the distance to grocery stores and key attractions to manage logistics effectively.

Booking tips for larger groups
Booking a group stay in Aruba requires a bit more planning. We recommend booking well in advance, especially if your trip falls during peak season, to secure your preferred property. Carefully review the deposit structure and cancellation policy before committing, as these can vary significantly for larger rentals. Be prepared for a security deposit, which is standard for many private villas. For ease, Anywayr can assist with understanding payment schedules and, in some cases, coordinating payment splitting among group members. Confirm check-in and check-out procedures, including key collection or access codes, to ensure a smooth arrival and departure for your entire party.
