Anywayr wrote this. We make the connector this page is about, so we have also said what Claude does well without it.
The short answer
Claude is good at the thinking part of a trip: where to go, how long to stay, what to see. On its own it cannot see live hotel rooms or airline seats, so its prices are estimates. Add the Anywayr connector and the same conversation can save a real trip, search hotels and flights for your dates, get an exact quote and hand you a checkout page.
It takes about a minute to add, and Claude's Free plan allows it. Steps to add Anywayr to Claude.
With and without the connector
| Claude on its own | Claude with Anywayr | |
|---|---|---|
| Ideas, itineraries, questions | Yes | Yes, and Anywayr builds a day-by-day plan for the saved trip |
| Hotel and flight prices | Estimates from what it knows or reads on the web | Live results from Anywayr's hotel and airline suppliers, in US dollars |
| An exact price you can act on | No | An exact quote that expires, with the total shown before anything else happens |
| Booking | You book somewhere else | Anywayr's checkout page. You can also let Claude book fully refundable stays and flights with your saved card, within a limit you set |
| Cancelling | You cancel somewhere else | Full-refund cancellations can be confirmed in the chat. Anything with a fee finishes on Anywayr |
| The plan after the chat ends | The conversation, and Claude's memory if you use it | A saved trip with its own link, which you can reopen on Anywayr or from Claude later |
| Planning with friends | You copy the plan into a group chat | Share the trip link. Friends see the same options, vote on stays and track who owes what |
| Cost | Claude's own plans | Connecting, planning and searching on Anywayr are free. You pay for what you book |

What a conversation looks like
You might start with something loose: "Four of us want a long weekend somewhere warm in March, flying from Chicago, around $1,500 each."
Without the connector, Claude suggests a few places, explains why and gives rough costs. That is a good start, and for many people it is enough.
With the connector, you can keep going in the same chat:
- "Plan Lisbon for March 12 to 15 for four adults." Claude saves the trip on Anywayr and gives you its link straight away. The itinerary keeps building after that.
- "Find hotels in Lisbon for those dates." Claude searches Anywayr and shows real options with prices.
- "Get me a quote for the second one." Claude asks Anywayr for an exact quote and shows the total and the cancellation terms.
- "Send me the checkout." Claude hands you a link to Anywayr's checkout page, where you review the booking and pay.
Claude names each Anywayr tool as it uses it, so you can see when it is searching and when it is quoting.
What Claude can and cannot do with Anywayr
You choose on the Anywayr connect screen what Claude may do, and you can approve less than it asks for. The options are things like searching, reading your trips, editing trips, getting quotes, preparing a checkout and reading your bookings.
Booking with your saved card in the chat is off by default. If you turn it on, it covers only fully refundable bookings, only up to the booking limit you set on your Anywayr profile, and Claude still shows you the exact total first. Anything else comes back to you on Anywayr's checkout page.
You can disconnect Claude at any time in your Anywayr profile, under Connected apps.
Where Claude on its own is enough
- Early ideas. If you are still choosing between three cities, you do not need live prices yet.
- Questions about a place. Weather, neighbourhoods, what to pack, how to get from the airport. Claude answers these without a connector.
- Trips you will book elsewhere. If you already have a favourite booking site or points to spend, plan in Claude and book there.
