Anywayr wrote this. We make one of the two connectors, so we have tried to be fair and say where Otto is better.
The short answer
Otto and Anywayr both let Claude search flights and hotels and take you all the way to a booking. They are built for different travelers.
- Pick Otto if you travel for work in the US and want an assistant that knows your seat, airline, hotel brand and loyalty numbers, books in the chat on your card, and handles changes. Otto says it is "not for figuring out where to go on vacation."
- Pick Anywayr if you are planning a trip for fun, especially with friends or family: a saved trip the group can vote on, shared costs, and a checkout page you control.

How each one books
Otto. You ask for a flight or hotel, Otto searches with your saved preferences, and you pick one. Otto's guide says: "You pick an option, confirm it, and the card on file completes the reservation without a second window." Otto also says nothing is bought until you approve, and that you can keep separate payment methods for personal and business bookings.
Anywayr. You ask for a hotel or flight, Anywayr returns options in US dollars, and Claude gets an exact quote with the total and cancellation terms. By default Claude then hands you a link to Anywayr's checkout page, where you pay. If you tick "book with your saved card" on the Anywayr connect screen, Claude can book in the chat instead, but only for fully refundable bookings, only within the limit you set on your Anywayr profile, and only after it shows you the exact total. Anything else comes back to you on Anywayr.
Both ask you first. The difference is the default: Otto books in the chat as its normal path, while Anywayr keeps the last step on its checkout page unless you choose otherwise.
Where Otto is better
- Business travel. Otto learns your preferences, "from preferred seating and hotel chains to travel policies", and applies your loyalty programs. Anywayr's connector does not describe preferences or loyalty numbers.
- Booking in the chat for every booking. Otto completes bookings in the conversation as standard. Anywayr only does that for fully refundable bookings, within your limit, if you turned it on.
- Changes. Otto can exchange or cancel flights and hotels and says it rebooks when plans change. Anywayr cancels in the chat only when you get a full refund, and does not describe exchanges.
- Rental cars. Otto says cars are available to every user. Anywayr's connector does not offer them.
- Everywhere you work. Otto runs in its own apps and in Slack, Teams, WhatsApp and email as well as Claude and ChatGPT.
- Verified by Anthropic. Otto carries the Anthropic verified label. Anywayr carries the Community label, which means it passed Anthropic's automated review but is not verified by Anthropic.
Where Anywayr is better
- Trips with other people. Otto's guide says flights book one traveler at a time and hotels cover one or two. Anywayr searches flights for up to 9 passengers and rooms for up to 8 adults, and saves a trip page friends can join. They vote on the stays and plans, and Anywayr tracks who owes whom, with Venmo and Cash App links. More in planning a group trip with AI.
- Deciding where to go. Otto says it is not for picking a vacation destination. Anywayr saves a trip and builds a day-by-day plan for it, which is useful when the trip itself is the point.
- A checkout page by default. If you would rather not let an AI charge your card, Anywayr's default keeps payment on a page where you review the total and terms yourself. The saved card option stays off unless you tick it.
- An exact, expiring quote. You see the final total and the cancellation terms before you agree.
- Price. Otto is free for the first year, and the pages we checked do not describe the price after that. Connecting, planning and searching on Anywayr are free, and you pay only for what you book.
Who should use which
- US work trips, loyalty programs, frequent changes: Otto.
- A long weekend with friends, a family trip, or anything where several people need a say: Anywayr.
- Both kinds of travel: add both. Claude can use more than one connector, and each keeps its own account.
