Anywayr wrote this. We make a group trip planner, so we have tried to be fair and say where the others are better.
The short answer
- Pick Mindtrip if you mostly travel alone or as a couple, want an assistant that remembers your tastes, like maps, events and restaurant ideas, and want an iPhone app.
- Pick Anywayr if you are the person organising a trip for a group, especially with a shared rental, votes on where to stay, and a bill to split at the end.
- Many groups can use both. Mindtrip for ideas and inspiration, Anywayr for the shared plan and the money.
An earlier version of this page said Mindtrip has no group features. That was wrong. Mindtrip's own App Store listing describes collaboration tools, and we have rewritten the page to match.

Anywayr facts come from anywayr.com (plan, FAQ, about, terms, connectors pages). Where a cell says "not described", we did not find it on these pages. It may exist, so check before you decide.
How each one starts
Mindtrip opens with a setup step. Its homepage says the assistant "learns what matters to you" and "remembers how you like to travel, so you don't have to start from scratch each time." It also says it can "create agents to keep tabs on whatever matters to you", and shows price-drop alerts for flights and hotels [2]. That suits someone who plans many trips and wants one assistant that builds up a picture of their taste.
Anywayr starts from the trip itself: where, when, how many people, budget and interests. It returns a day-by-day group itinerary covering neighborhoods, dining, activities, transport and places to stay. Planning is free, and you can invite friends to the trip afterwards. The emphasis is on the shared plan rather than a personal profile.
Planning with a group
This is where the two differ most, and where our earlier page was unfair.
Mindtrip's App Store listing says its collaboration tools let you "Invite friends into group chats. Share collections and itineraries you can edit together" [3]. If your group's main need is to brainstorm together and edit one itinerary, Mindtrip does that.
Anywayr adds three things aimed at the organiser:
- Voting on where to stay. Members can vote on stay options and rental cars, so the choice does not rest on one person's pick. We only claim voting on stays and rental cars here.
- Cost tracking. You can record shared costs and see who owes what. To settle up, Anywayr gives you Venmo and Cash App links. The money moves in those apps, not in Anywayr.
- Rentals for big groups. For houses and larger groups, Anywayr shows VRBO options (Airbnb when VRBO has none) with photos and prices, then sends you to the rental site to book. Anywayr does not take rental bookings itself.
We did not find cost splitting or group voting described on Mindtrip's homepage or App Store listing. If they matter to you, look inside the app before committing.
Booking
Mindtrip says you can "book directly on Mindtrip" once your assistant has helped you choose flights, stays and restaurants [2]. Its terms say reservations are made "with a third-party service provider and/or agent," and name booking partners for hotels including Priceline, Expedia, Agoda, VRBO, Hotels.com, Nuitée, Trip.com and Vio.com [4]. Its terms also describe a one-time $30 cash back promotion, paid as a virtual gift card, for first-time users on a first hotel booking of $100 or more, excluding taxes and fees [4]. That is a real perk if you are booking a hotel for yourself.
Anywayr offers its own checkout for flights and for hotel rooms. Everything else is a link to a partner: vacation rentals go to VRBO or Airbnb, Booking.com hotel options go to Booking.com, and activities go to the provider. We do not quote booking volumes for either product.
Using it inside an AI assistant
Anywayr has a connector that lets an AI app plan trips, search hotels and flights, get quotes and hand you back Anywayr's checkout link. Anywayr says it works today with Claude, Claude Code, VS Code and Codex CLI, and with ChatGPT in developer mode only. Others are listed as coming soon. We have not tested each connection ourselves, so treat "works today" as Anywayr's own statement. Details: https://anywayr.com/connectors.
We did not find an equivalent on the Mindtrip pages we checked.
Price
Mindtrip's App Store listing shows the app price as Free [3]. That is the App Store price, not a plan price. Its terms do not mention subscription fees for using the service [4]. Its pricing page needs a sign-in, so we cannot show plan names or prices. See their pricing page for current plans.
Anywayr's planning, searching and connector are free. There is an optional paid Early Supporter plan at $15 a month, with the first 14 days free. You pay for a flight or hotel when you book it through Anywayr's checkout, and pay partners on their own sites for rentals and activities. Anywayr may earn a commission when you book through a partner link.
Where Mindtrip is better
- A personal assistant that learns you. Mindtrip is built around remembering your preferences and showing only options that fit [2].
- An iPhone app. Mindtrip has one, listed as iPhone only [3]. Anywayr is a website that works on phones, plus a text assistant.
- Things to do around you. The app lists Events for concerts, sports and local happenings, interactive maps and a Magic Camera for learning about what you are looking at and translating signs, menus and labels [3].
- Alerts. Mindtrip describes price-drop alerts and agents that watch what matters to you [2].
- Languages. The App Store listing shows English plus seven other languages [3].
- Restaurants. Mindtrip puts restaurants ("Eats") next to flights and stays and mentions booking them [2].
- A hotel promotion. A first-hotel-booking cash back for new users, in its terms [4].
Which should you pick?
Choose Mindtrip if you are planning for yourself or one other person, want a taste-aware assistant and an iPhone app, and like alerts and events.
Choose Anywayr if you are organising six, eight or twenty people, need to compare rentals, want the group to vote on the stay, and want one place that tracks who paid what.
