Cleanliness6.5/10
Most guests describe the property as well-maintained, but a detailed negative report cited stained cushions, peeling paint and even cockroaches in one room; cleanliness issues lower this score.
Service10.0/10
Repeated praise for extremely friendly, helpful staff (mentions of staff like Paul, attentive service at tea and champagne events) supports a top score for service.
Location10.0/10
Multiple reviews note a great, walkable location close to downtown and squares; historic charm and a pleasant front porch make location a strong point.
Room Quality8.7/10
Many guests loved the comfortable mattress and spacious rooms, but at least one guest reported worn towels, stained cushions and faulty AC in their room, so room quality is high overall but not perfect.
Amenities10.0/10
Afternoon tea, complimentary evening champagne toast, courtyard and other on-site offerings were repeatedly praised and drive a very strong amenities score.
Value for Money10.0/10
Several guests reported excellent deals/discounts and felt the experience justified the cost; one guest complained about an extra breakfast charge, but overall guests report strong perceived value when booking deals.

Lovely first trip to Savannah Bellwether House was a lovely stay for our visit. The staff and food was exemplary. The sheets were heavenly and the rooms were decently appointed. A little warm in our room but that is our fault for coming in august. The room felt a tad shabby but other wise the home and the atmosphere were brilliant.

Amazing stay and food! Our stay at Bellwether House was wonderful! Suite 11 was charming, right off the back porch and we enjoyed the afternoon tea served daily (on a gorgeous stork serving platter, see photo). Scarlet prepared the most amazing breakfast display of savory and sweet items. (again see photos) They certainly earned their Michelin rating! The staff was helpful and attentive. You will not be disappointed with a stay here.

Loved the Southern charm at this B&B We were on a three-week road trip and booking accommodations on the fly when this B&B came up as available for our last night in Savannah. Since we were already downtown, we actually walked over to see it before booking—and I’m so glad we did! The previous night, we had stayed at an Airbnb downtown that we really didn’t enjoy, so finding this beautiful B&B was the perfect way to end our stay in Savannah. We stayed Thursday to Friday and honestly wished we could have stayed longer, but unfortunately, it was time to hit the road. One of the things that made our stay so special was all of the thoughtful amenities. At 4:00 p.m., they have tea time, which we attended and thoroughly enjoyed. The tea was excellent and accompanied by a lovely selection of small snacks and fresh fruit. At 6:00 p.m., they offer a champagne toast, and the next morning there was a beautiful breakfast spread. I almost have to call it a breakfast-and-lunch spread because I had never had salad for breakfast before! There was such a nice variety of choices. I have celiac disease, so I had to stay with the non-wheat options, but everything I was able to enjoy was excellent. My husband had more of the offerings and said both the tea-time snacks and breakfast were wonderful. Another huge plus was the parking. An actual overnight parking lot was included with our stay. After our experience the night before—paying for street parking and worrying about our car overnight—having secure, convenient parking was very much appreciated. The B&B itself was fantastic, but the staff really made the experience. From check-in through every interaction we had, the entire crew was top-notch. A special thank you to Ocean, who spent time talking with us at the bar and gave us such wonderful insight into Savannah’s history, culture, and people. He even recommended one of his favorite places for dinner. We took his advice, went there Thursday night, and it was excellent! Those personal recommendations and conversations are exactly the kind of touches that make a B&B experience memorable. The park is just a few steps away, so we were able to walk over and explore it several times during our short stay. After the champagne toast that evening, we stayed in and played two games on their beautiful classic wooden Monopoly board while listening to jazz music on the record player. It was such a simple thing, but it ended up being one of those wonderful little moments we’ll remember from our trip. What I especially loved about this B&B is that you can enjoy as much—or as little—of the experience as you want. If you want to be pampered and participate in everything they offer, you absolutely can. If you would rather have privacy and be left to yourself, that seems perfectly comfortable as well. We chose to enjoy every amenity we could, and we’re so glad we did. I highly recommend this lovely B&B. It was a fantastic way to spend our final night in Savannah, and next time we are in Savannah, GA, we will absolutely stay here again. Thank you to Ocean and the entire staff for giving us such a beautiful and memorable experience!

Delightful! I love the town and this location was walking distance from everything I wanted to see. Breakfast was very special! Fresh berries, salad, those amazing souffle's, granola, and coffee bar where you could order anything. We were skeptical about having a basement room "garden room" - but it was cooler than expected! I enjoyed the layout and private entrance into an updated room with a pretty bathroom.

Didn't like: We had one night where the sump pump broke and there was backflow of our toilet and shower, but that was fixed the next morning. I don't think that could have been helped by anyone.

Blissful The entire experience was phenomenal. The friendliest staff at all hours. The most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on at a hotel. Lots of amenities and fun functions like the champagne pouring, tea time, and courtyard. And the best breakfast I’ve had in a while. I can’t recommend it enough.

Wonderful stay in a historic gem! We loved all the thoughtful extras the Bellwether offered. Afternoon tea was a wonderful treat, and the complimentary evening champagne toast was an unexpected highlight. During the toast, we enjoyed a great conversation with one of the staff members, Paul, whose hospitality made the experience even more memorable. Breakfast was delicious, and the entire property is beautifully maintained with plenty of historic charm. Our spacious room and the inviting front porch made our stay especially relaxing.

Didn't like: We loved everything!

Amazing Afternoon Tea The afternoon tea was amazing! They had many selection, and Ocean was super helpful in explaining the different options and with getting everything set up. The little tea snacks were delicious as well (especially the tiny little cakes!!)
