Sayulita is an excellent choice for group travel, offering a wide array of private villas and spacious homes that cater to friends, family reunions, and special celebrations. Unlike standard hotel rooms, these properties provide ample common areas for socializing, private bedrooms for individual comfort, and often amenities like private pools or large terraces. The town's layout means some properties are right in the heart of the action, while others offer a more secluded experience on the hillsides or north side. When planning your group's stay, consider the balance between proximity to the beach and town center, and the desire for a quieter retreat. Parking can be a factor, as many central areas are pedestrian-friendly, making walkability or golf cart rentals important.
What to look for in a group stay here
When selecting a group stay in Sayulita, prioritizing the number of bedrooms and bathrooms is crucial for comfort and privacy. Many larger villas offer 3 to 5 bedrooms, accommodating groups of 8 to 14 people. Look for properties with an equal number of bathrooms to bedrooms, or at least one bathroom per two guests, to avoid morning queues. Consider the layout too; multi-level homes can offer separate living spaces, ideal for groups with varying sleep schedules or those wanting a mix of togetherness and personal space.
Common pitfalls include underestimating the walk to town or the beach, especially for properties located on the hills. While views can be spectacular, steep climbs might not suit everyone in your group. The north side of Sayulita generally offers a quieter atmosphere, often with direct beach access, while properties closer to the town center put you right amidst shops, restaurants, and nightlife. Confirm if the property offers parking if you plan to rent vehicles, or if golf cart rentals are readily available nearby for easier mobility.

Booking tips for larger groups
Booking your group accommodation well in advance is highly recommended, especially if your trip coincides with peak season or holidays. Always review the deposit and cancellation policies carefully, as these can be stricter for larger properties. Clarify any security deposit requirements and the process for its return. For ease of planning, consider having one person manage the booking and payments, or use a group payment app to simplify splitting costs among travelers.
