# How to book a hotel in Claude

## The short answer

Claude cannot book a hotel on its own. With the Anywayr connector it can search hotels for your exact dates and guests, show room options, get an exact quote that expires, and hand you a link to Anywayr's checkout page. If you choose, it can also book a fully refundable room with the card saved on your Anywayr account, within a limit you set.

Two limits to know first: prices are in US dollars, and each search covers one room.

## What you need

- A Claude account. Anywayr is listed in [Claude's Connectors directory](https://claude.ai/directory/connectors/anywayr) and works on the Free, Pro and Max plans. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds it first.
- A free Anywayr account. You create or sign in to it when you connect.
- Exact dates, the number of adults, and the real ages of any children.

## Step 1: add Anywayr to Claude

1. Open the [Anywayr listing](https://claude.ai/directory/connectors/anywayr) in Claude's directory, or search for Anywayr under Customize, then Connectors.
2. Choose Connect. Claude opens Anywayr so you can sign in.
3. On the Anywayr connect screen, read what Claude is asking to do and approve it. You can approve less than it asks for.

The connect screen is also where the saved card option lives. It is unticked by default. Leave it that way if you want every booking to finish on Anywayr's checkout page.

## Step 2: search

Ask for what you want in plain words, with dates and guests:

> Find hotels in Lisbon for two adults, March 12 to 15, 2027.

Claude names each Anywayr tool as it uses it, so you will see it search hotels. Results come back in the conversation with prices in US dollars, up to 10 at a time. You can narrow them: "Only ones under $250 a night", "Closer to the river", "Show me more."

## Step 3: look at the rooms

Pick a hotel and ask for its rooms:

> Show me the room options for the second one.

Anywayr lists the room offers for that hotel, using exactly the dates and guests from your search. If you want different dates, search again rather than asking for rates on new dates; the rates belong to the search they came from.

## Step 4: get an exact quote

> Get me a quote for the king room with free cancellation.

Claude asks Anywayr for an exact quote and shows you the total and the cancellation terms before anything else happens. The quote expires. If you come back later, ask for a fresh one.

This is the step most AI hotel searches skip. A price in a search result can change by the time you book; the quote is the number you would actually pay.

## Step 5: book

You have two ways to finish.

**The default: Anywayr's checkout page.** Ask "Send me the checkout." Claude gives you a secure link. On that page you check the room, the total and the cancellation terms, enter guest and payment details, and approve. Claude never sees your card.

**Optional: book in the chat with your saved card.** If you ticked "book with your saved card" on the connect screen, Claude can book in the conversation, but only when all of these are true:

- the booking is fully refundable;
- the total is within the booking limit you set on your Anywayr profile;
- you have agreed to the exact total Claude showed you.

Anything outside those rules comes back to you on Anywayr's checkout page. Until you set a limit, every booking does.

## After you book

- **Check it.** "What is the status of my Lisbon booking?" Claude can read your bookings if you allowed it.
- **Cancel it.** Claude can ask what cancelling would refund right now. If you get a full refund, it can cancel in the chat once you say yes. Anything with a fee is finished on anywayr.com.
- **Disconnect.** Remove the connector in Claude, and disconnect Claude in your Anywayr profile under Connected apps.

If your group needs three rooms, that is three searches and three bookings. Anywayr does not offer rental cars through its connector.

## When another Claude connector fits better

- **You want to browse with no account.** Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor connectors in Claude need no sign-in. Booking.com's own page says "All reservations are completed on Booking.com", and its connector returns up to 10 options.
- **You care most about reviews.** Tripadvisor's connector pulls hotel reviews, ratings, photos and nearby points of interest.
- **You need another currency.** Booking.com says its connector shows prices "in a consistent currency for the user". Anywayr shows US dollars only.
- **You want the Verified label.** Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor carry Anthropic's Verified label in the directory. Anywayr's listing carries the Community label, which means it passed Anthropic's automated review but is not verified by Anthropic.

You can add more than one. Claude can search Booking.com for ideas and Anywayr for the quote in the same conversation.

## Where Anywayr is the better fit

- **You want to finish the booking from the chat**, either through a checkout link or, if you allow it, with your saved card.
- **You want the exact total and terms before you commit**, not a search price.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can Claude book a hotel?

With the Anywayr connector, yes. Claude searches hotels, gets an exact quote and gives you a link to Anywayr's checkout page. If you turn on saved card booking, it can also book fully refundable rooms in the chat, within a limit you set.

### Can I book more than one room?

Each Anywayr search and booking covers one room, with up to 8 adults. For several rooms, search and book each one.

### What currency are the prices in?

US dollars. Anywayr's connector does not show other currencies.

### Will Claude book without asking me?

No. Saved card booking is off by default. If you turn it on, Claude can only book fully refundable bookings within your limit, and it shows you the exact total first.
